Assistant in Nursing - Nurse Bank

About the role

Calvary Mater Newcastle offers casual positions for Assistant in Nursing (AIN) staff in its nurse bank. The AIN provides care, comfort and support to patients alongside the multidisciplinary team, as directed by the Registered Nurse, across settings such as Palliative Care, General Medicine and Medical Oncology. The salary classification is Assistant in Nursing Year 1-4.

Key responsibilities

• Report all patient observations to the appropriate Registered Nurse.
• Support the nursing team in delivering nursing care in an acute care environment, as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Provide direct care activities to patients in line with the nursing care plan, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Required profile

• Evidence of current enrolment in a Bachelor of Nursing degree, Diploma of Nursing or completion of a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Acute Care), with transcripts provided.
• Successful completion of first-year Bachelor of Nursing or Diploma of Nursing subjects and an acute care placement of at least 2 weeks in a hospital setting; or satisfactory completion of the Certificate III, with transcripts provided.
• Unlimited working rights in Australia.
• Completion of pre-employment checks including references, work rights, criminal history and WWCC checks.
• Evidence of immunisation as required for this Category A role.
