Assistant Gardener – Handyperson

About the role
Shenton College is creating a pool of Assistant Gardeners – Handypersons to support the maintenance of its campus grounds and facilities. Working under the Head Gardener, you will help keep the environment safe, attractive and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine grounds maintenance across the college campus.
- Carry out minor repairs and general handyperson tasks as required.
- Maintain and service gardening tools and equipment.
- Assist with planting, pruning and general plant care.
- Support the team in ensuring a clean and safe outdoor environment.
Required profile
- Reliable and self‑motivated individual.
- Sound knowledge of gardening practices, equipment and plants.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or a handyperson role is highly regarded.
