Assistant Coordinator – OSHC (North Ipswich)

About the role

St Joseph’s OSHC North Ipswich is looking for an experienced Assistant Coordinator to support the day‑to‑day operations of a licensed out‑of‑school‑hours care (OSHC) service for 105 children. You will help design engaging programs, guide educators, and ensure a safe, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Coordinator in managing daily operations of the OSHC service.
• Design and deliver play‑based programs that reflect children’s interests.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to educators to build confidence and consistency.
• Assist with rostering, administration, and compliance processes.
• Act as Responsible Person when required, leading the service confidently.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for every child.
• Build strong, positive relationships with families and the school community.

Required profile

• ACE‑approved school‑age qualification (education, community services, health, therapy, sports or creative arts).
• Current or willingness to complete mandatory National Child Training (via Geckko).
• Valid Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR and Asthma/Anaphylaxis certifications.
• Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place framework and relevant legislation.
• Experience working in early childhood education and care.
• Effective computer skills and experience with childcare management software (Xplor preferred).
• Strong workplace communication and leadership abilities.
