Assistant Accountant

About the role

Easts Group is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join its finance team in Bondi Junction. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will ensure accurate processing of financial data, support month‑end close activities, and help maintain compliance across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily banking journals and perform bank reconciliations in the accounting ledger.
• Handle accounts receivable invoices for functions and bookings.
• Prepare end‑of‑month bank reports, month‑end journals (accruals, revenue amortisation) and credit‑card journals on schedule.
• Reconcile Balance Sheets and P&L statements by month‑end deadlines.
• Compile the Australian Business Survey (ABS) accurately and on time.
• Assist the Accounts Payable Clerk and support the financial year‑end audit process.
• Undertake special projects as directed by the Head of Finance.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in accounting (essential).
• 1–2 years experience as an Assistant Accountant in an Australian company (essential).
• Strong accounting knowledge, high attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• CA/CPA qualification (desirable).
• Advanced Excel skills (desirable).
• Working knowledge of NetSuite accounting ledger (desirable).
• Familiarity with club policies and procedures (desirable).
