Assistant Accountant

About the role

Join PTG Group at a pivotal growth stage as an Assistant Accountant. Working directly with the CFO and the finance team, you will gain hands‑on experience in a complex multi‑entity environment, supporting financial reporting, process improvement and system enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in month‑end close across multiple entities, including journal entry preparation, accruals, balance‑sheet reconciliations and general‑ledger maintenance.
• Support management reporting by performing variance analysis and gathering commentary from operational stakeholders.
• Prepare audit‑ready working papers, maintain accurate financial records and help ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Monitor customer accounts, assist with collections and contribute to cash‑flow management through timely debtor reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, support system automation initiatives and contribute to process documentation.
• Provide ad‑hoc analysis, reporting and project support while building relationships with internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
