Armed Security Officer

About the role

MSS Security is looking for full-time and casual Armed Security Officers to join its team at a high-profile, secure government facility in Melbourne's north. You will help keep staff, visitors and property safe. The role involves patrols, access control, incident documentation and control room operations.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas regularly to keep the premises secure and free from incidents.
• Monitor and control entry points, verify identification and carry out security screenings to prevent unauthorised access.
• Document incidents and security breaches accurately and pass them to the right people.
• Run the day-to-day control room operations smoothly and efficiently.
• Coordinate emergency response and make sure action is taken in time.
• Enforce site standing orders and communicate changes to policies, procedures and operating requirements.
• Make sure incidents are reported through the correct channels and the right actions are taken.

Required profile

• Full Australian working rights.
• Current Victorian Security Licence with the control room subcategory.
• Certificate III in Security Operations.
• Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster.
• Current Victorian Firearms Licence, or willingness to obtain one.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
• Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
• White Card, or willingness to obtain one.
• Master Licence Number: 409-987-30.

Required skills

• Good report writing is essential.
• A clear, professional demeanour and effective communication.
• Physical ability to patrol regularly and stay at static posts for long periods.
• Understanding of CCTV and access control systems is highly desired.
