Aquatic Education Instructor – Schools

About the role

The Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre is looking for enthusiastic individuals to deliver water‑safety and swimming lessons to school groups and individuals. This casual position is ideal for people who enjoy working with children and want to help them develop confidence in the water.

Key responsibilities

• Teach swimming techniques and water‑safety skills to children of various ages.
• Create engaging, safe and inclusive lesson plans.
• Build confidence and promote lifelong water‑safety habits.
• Communicate effectively with parents, participants and team members.
• Support the overall delivery of the aquatic education program.

Required profile

• Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
• Interest in gaining swim‑teaching qualifications (e.g., Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety).
• Positive attitude, strong communication and a genuine passion for supporting children.

Required skills

• Basic first‑aid knowledge (HLTAID001 or HLTAID003).
• Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a safe learning environment.
