Apprentice Parks & Gardens

About the role

An educational campus in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs is offering a hands-on apprenticeship in horticulture and landscape maintenance. Trainees work alongside experienced horticulturists and grounds professionals to learn how to maintain gardens, landscaped areas, sporting facilities and outdoor environments. No previous experience is required.

Key responsibilities

• Plant identification, care and maintenance
• Garden bed preparation and planting
• Turf and sports field maintenance
• Irrigation systems operation and maintenance
• Pruning, mowing and weed management
• Pest and disease identification
• Safe use and maintenance of horticultural equipment
• Apply workplace health and safety practices

Required profile

• Enjoys working outdoors in all seasons
• Genuine interest in horticulture, parks and gardens
• Reliable, motivated and eager to learn, with attention to detail
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Current driver's licence desirable but not essential
• Willing to obtain a Working with Children Check and a White Card
