Apprentice Fitter & Turner (Mechanical Engineering)

About the role

Marand, a leading Australian engineering and manufacturing company owned by ASDAM, is looking for motivated people to join its team as an Apprentice Fitter (Mechanical Engineering) in Moorabbin. The apprenticeship combines hands-on work with formal training and can lead to a career in CNC machining, assembly operation or quality inspection. The position is advertised as a contract.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the fitting, assembly and machining of precision components.
• Take part in a structured apprenticeship program that mixes practical work with formal training.
• Learn to read technical drawings, use precision tools and maintain high-quality standards.

Required profile

• Good mechanical reasoning, a passion for machining and fitting and a desire to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• A commitment to teamwork and safety.
• Completion of Year 10 or equivalent education.
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles is preferred but not essential.
• Applicants may be asked to hold Australian citizenship and meet ITAR and/or EAR compliance; a police check, defence security clearance and random drug and alcohol screening may also be required.

What we offer

• Fully funded apprenticeship training leading to a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical).
