Android Mobility Engineer – Delivery Platforms

About the role

We are looking for an Android Mobility Engineer to own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Woolworths’ native Android application. You will combine feature development with operational excellence to deliver a secure, high‑performing mobile product that serves millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the “Golden Path” for Android development, retiring legacy frameworks and guiding teams toward modern idiomatic Android.
• Design and maintain developer tooling, SDKs, build systems and dependency management to create a consumable development environment.
• Own Azure CI/CD pipelines that automate builds, testing, code signing and deployment to Google Play and internal channels.
• Translate regulatory and security requirements into engineering backlogs and implement automated remediation (e.g., data encryption).
• Monitor platform health using tools such as Splunk, identify noisy components and drive fixes to reduce crashes and performance regressions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on Android development.
• Proven experience delivering and operating large‑scale mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance and automated remediation practices.
