AI Full Stack Developer (Node.js, React, Java/Spring Boot)

About the role

This is a full‑time remote position based in Sydney, joining a technology leader that powers real‑time communication platforms for correctional facilities across Australia. You will work on secure video, voice and messaging features, integrate AI services, and maintain critical APIs across both frontend and backend stacks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive React/TypeScript user interfaces for multiple applications.
• Design and operate scalable backend services using Node.js/Express for real‑time media handling and Java/Spring Boot for enterprise logic.
• Implement complex voice and video workflows with WebRTC, Socket.IO and third‑party SDKs such as Twilio.
• Integrate AWS (Transcribe, Rekognition, S3) and Google Cloud services for live content moderation and transcription.
• Manage data storage in MySQL/PostgreSQL and Redis, and support containerised deployments with Docker.
• Write unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests (Jest, JUnit, Playwright) to ensure reliability of communication flows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional full‑stack development experience.
• Strong expertise in modern TypeScript, React (hooks, context) and asynchronous Node.js programming.
• Experience with Java/Spring Boot and REST API development.
• Proficiency with SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and ORM tools.
• Understanding of WebSockets, Pub/Sub patterns and real‑time state synchronization.
• Ability to switch between frontend and enterprise backend codebases efficiently.
