AI and Data Engineer

About the role

Nous Group is looking for an AI and Data Engineer to join its Data Futures team. You will build and maintain AI‑enabled tools that help consultants deliver higher‑quality work faster, using frontier language models and modern data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate internal AI tools that support consulting workflows such as evidence synthesis, proposal review, knowledge retrieval, quality assurance and document production.
• Create and maintain data pipelines that provide consultants with up‑to‑date, high‑quality data for their projects.
• Build connectors between large language models (LLMs) and existing systems, integrating APIs, databases and internal knowledge sources.
• Prototype new AI applications with consulting teams, gather feedback, and decide which solutions to scale, improve or retire.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve production AI tools, providing user support and bug fixes.
• Contribute to technical decisions on architecture, deployment patterns, and build‑versus‑buy evaluations for the product portfolio.

• Proven experience delivering AI‑focused data engineering solutions in a production environment.
• Hands‑on ability to translate research‑grade models into reliable, user‑friendly applications.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on practical impact for consulting teams.
