ADAS Systems Engineer – Autonomous Driving

About the role

Join a joint venture between Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies as an ADAS Systems Engineer. You will design, develop, and validate core system architectures for next‑generation driver‑assistance and autonomous platforms, working in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage system and software requirements for Level 2‑5 ADAS and autonomous driving solutions.
• Translate functional objectives into detailed engineering specifications, state machines, and control algorithms.
• Collaborate with HMI/UX, functional safety, cybersecurity, and product management teams to integrate multidisciplinary requirements.
• Use MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow for modeling, simulation, and validation (MIL/SIL/HIL).
• Develop functional safety work products in line with ISO 26262 and conduct DFMEA/STPA analyses.
• Partner with validation teams to perform root‑cause analysis, debug issues, and iterate designs based on test data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Computer Science or related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in ADAS, robotics, or automotive controls development.
• Strong foundation in classical and modern control theory, including stability analysis and MPC.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams and manage complex system lifecycles.
