Accounts Payable Lead

About the role

A well‑established industrial organisation is looking for an Accounts Payable Lead to own and improve its payables function. You will lead a small team, manage the full AP cycle and act as the go‑to person for all AP matters, ensuring a smooth, compliant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small AP team, set priorities and keep work moving.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end payables cycle from invoice receipt to payment.
• Resolve complex issues such as discrepancies and disputes.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain tight controls over approvals, payments and supplier records.
• Support month‑end processes and audit activities.

Required profile

• Strong background in accounts payable or transactional finance, preferably in a high‑volume environment.
• Experience leading or coordinating a team.
• Understanding of the full AP process, including purchase orders, matching, payment runs and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of GST and financial controls.
• Experience in fast‑paced operational industries such as resources, construction or manufacturing is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
