Accounts Officer

About the role

Pullman Cairns International is seeking a detail‑focused Accounts Officer to join its finance team. This part‑time position (24 hours per week) supports the hotel’s financial processing, reporting and reconciliation in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, billing and payments.
• Process and reconcile daily financial transactions across multiple systems.
• Maintain accurate debtor and creditor records and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support general ledger accuracy.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end reporting, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports such as aged analysis and variance reviews.
• Respond to internal and external finance‑related queries.
• Support expense processing, petty cash and general finance administration.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

Required profile

• Experience in an Accounts Officer, Finance Officer or similar multi‑function accounting role.
• Understanding of both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong reconciliation and general accounting skills with high numerical accuracy.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines, especially during month‑end.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Hospitality or hotel finance experience is highly regarded.
