Accounting Manager – Cost Base

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Central Functions Finance team in South Australia. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will help ensure financial integrity across corporate cost centres, support strategic decision‑making and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate and report Central cost centre results, shaping the narrative around business performance.
• Identify and track financial risks and opportunities.
• Partner with stakeholders to improve and challenge inputs into forecasts and budgets.
• Provide senior finance stakeholders with actionable insights.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation and corporate policies.
• Drive efficiencies in reporting, forecasting and project finance processes.

Required profile

• Degree qualification plus a professional CA, CIMA or CPA designation.
• Growth mindset with curiosity beyond spreadsheets.
• Strong critical‑thinking, storytelling and attention‑to‑detail.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government Security Clearance.
