Accountant – Funds Finance

About the role

ESR Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join its Sydney Funds Finance team. The role focuses on monthly and year‑end financial accounting, management reporting, and tax compliance for a portfolio of stabilised and development funds.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and year‑end financial and management reports for multiple funds.
• Review fund‑level profit & loss, balance‑sheet reconciliations and post journal entries, including IFRS/AASB16 and loan‑related items.
• Support tax compliance activities such as BAS, income‑tax returns and distribution calculations.
• Maintain accurate financial records through bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations, payment reviews and stakeholder coordination.
• Assist with audits, loan‑covenant reporting, process improvements and ad‑hoc fund finance tasks.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance with CA/CPA (or near completion).
• Strong Excel capability and ability to analyse financial data.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Professional communication skills and collaborative mindset.
• Comfort with leveraging technology, including AI tools, to improve efficiency.
