Accountant – Financial Control (Residential Development)

About the role

As an Accountant, Financial Control you will support Mirvac's Residential Development business and the Financial Control team, delivering accurate financial reporting, month‑end accounting activities and control processes across residential development entities and joint ventures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and prepare reporting deliverables for Group Tax and Group Finance across wholly owned entities, joint ventures and joint operations.
• Prepare journals to support Residential Development sales and manage national overhead cost centres and corporate recharges.
• Own month‑end close activities across the balance sheet and profit and loss, including review of monthly account reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation of half‑year and full‑year Group Reporting Packs and GST compliance activities.
• Prepare audit work papers and respond to audit queries.
• Act as the point of contact for the offshore team, monitoring performance and providing feedback.
• Maintain general ledger, job cost and cost centre master data and contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in finance or accounting.
• Exposure to listed Property, Real Estate, Construction or related industry is highly regarded.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Well‑developed technical accounting skills and ability to multitask.
• Strong attention to detail and self‑motivated, proactive work style.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel proficiency.
• Experience with large ERP systems (Yardi desirable).
• Reasonable knowledge of general income tax and GST principles.
