Accountant – Finance Operations

About the role

Compass is seeking an Accountant to support the monthly reporting cycle for the consolidated group and manage day‑to‑day finance operations. This hands‑on role offers early‑career accountants the chance to work across reporting, tax, payables, payroll and debt recovery while collaborating with the Financial Controller, CFO and wider finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end tasks, GL reconciliations and assist with group account consolidation.
• Support financial analysis, reporting and ad‑hoc requests for the Financial Controller and CFO.
• Assist with tax compliance, audit support and development of finance processes and controls.
• Process invoices, maintain vendor records and support payroll processing.
• Reconcile bank accounts, resolve discrepancies and manage debt recovery from schools.
• Provide general finance team support, data entry and report preparation.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience in accounting, bookkeeping or finance, including month‑end, reconciliations and accounts payable.
• CPA or CA membership, or working towards it, with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight month‑end deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and confidence in following up debts with customers.
