Accountant – Business Advisory Team

About the role

Horizon Nexus Partners is expanding its Business Advisory team following the acquisition of Nexia Perth. We are looking for an experienced Accountant who enjoys client interaction, solving complex tax and accounting challenges, and developing a career in advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, income tax returns and statutory tax filings for a diverse client base.
• Research and analyse financial and tax information to produce accurate tax computations.
• Manage tax compliance obligations and maintain high‑quality documentation.
• Review tax assessments and assist with tax provision calculations.
• Support responses to ATO and other tax authority enquiries.
• Identify tax risks and help clients maintain effective governance and compliance processes.
• Conduct research to support tax and business advisory advice.
• Collaborate with Managers and Partners across various client engagements.
• Build strong client relationships through responsive, professional service.
• Identify opportunities to add value and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Uphold the highest professional and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in public practice accounting.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Interest in or exposure to business advisory work.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high‑quality work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to outstanding client service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and solid overall technology skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting or a related discipline.
