Accountant – Assurance

About the role

PwC Australia is seeking experienced accountants to join its Assurance practice across any of its Australian offices. You will work on complex client engagements, applying technology‑enabled audit techniques to enhance corporate governance and financial reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full audit lifecycle – planning, testing, reviewing and reporting – on large and complex engagements.
• Conduct financial investigations, prepare detailed reports and perform audits that identify fraud risks and misstatements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with market‑leading clients by delivering high‑quality assurance services.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a diverse, high‑performing team.
• Continuously improve audit methodologies in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to shape audit strategies alongside cross‑functional teams.
• Deep knowledge of internal controls and a proven track record of assessing, designing, and documenting control environments.
• Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues while fostering effective internal relationships.

Required skills

• Expertise in internal control frameworks and assurance methodologies.
• Ability to evaluate application security, fraud risk areas, and financial misstatement indicators.
