Accommodation Manager

About the role

The Renmark Paring Backpacker is seeking an experienced Accommodation Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of its backpacker accommodation, ensuring a smooth guest experience and efficient property performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the accommodation facility, including guest services, room allocation, bookings and housekeeping coordination.
• Oversee guest check‑in and check‑out, reservation updates, payment processing, enquiries, complaints and service recovery.
• Monitor occupancy, pricing and seasonal demand to maximise revenue and efficiency.
• Coordinate housekeeping, laundry, maintenance requests and common‑area standards.
• Supervise staff, allocate duties, monitor performance and ensure service standards.
• Maintain accurate guest records, invoices, occupancy reports and operational documentation.
• Liaise with travel agents, online booking platforms, contractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire safety, hygiene and security procedures.
• Manage stock, linen and cleaning supplies.
• Identify operational issues and implement solutions to improve performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field (preferred).
• At least 12 months’ experience managing accommodation or hostel operations.
• Experience using accommodation management systems, online booking platforms, channel managers and payment systems.
• Supervisory experience in housekeeping, laundry and maintenance coordination.
• Proven ability to handle guest relations, complaints and service recovery in a busy setting.
• Experience managing staff rosters, task allocation and supplier coordination.
• Strong focus on revenue awareness, occupancy planning and cost control.
• Commitment to exceptional customer service and flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
