1st Year Plumbing Apprenticeship – Apprentice Plumber

About the role

At PEER, apprentices receive four years of hands‑on training to become qualified plumbers. The first‑year apprenticeship focuses on building core plumbing knowledge across residential and commercial systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain hot and cold‑water systems.
• Set up irrigation and sustainable water solutions.
• Perform gas fitting and roof plumbing tasks.
• Handle sanitary and waste disposal installations.
• Assist with mechanical services and related trade work.

Required profile

• Eager to learn and willing to work with hands‑on tasks.
• Physically fit, safety‑conscious and able to lift equipment.
• Hold a valid driver’s licence (P1, P2 or full) and reliable vehicle.
• Australian permanent residency or citizenship.
• Pass Police Check, Working With Children Check and drug/alcohol screening.
• Commit to completing the full four‑year apprenticeship.

Required skills

• Understanding of hot‑ and cold‑water plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of irrigation and sustainable water solutions.
• Basic gas‑fitting and roof plumbing techniques.
• Familiarity with sanitary and waste disposal systems.
• Mechanical services basics.
