Transformer Engineer – Technical Support & Project Delivery

About the role

We are seeking a Transformer Engineer to provide technical support and guidance for transformer‑related opportunities and projects. The role involves travelling to customer sites, factories and events, and requires close collaboration with sales, project and quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Sales Manager during bidding by reviewing specifications and coordinating with overseas manufacturing facilities.
• Assist Project Managers by reviewing designs and drawings to ensure contractual compliance.
• Implement and maintain quality‑assurance programs throughout project lifecycles.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at overseas factories.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for equipment failure analysis and repair methodology during root‑cause investigations.
• Review and update internal standards while staying current with IEC and Australian standards.
• Support sales teams in developing innovative solutions such as integrated skid systems.
• Deliver technical training, presentations and customer engagement activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in the transformer industry with strong expertise in transformer design.
• Deep understanding of construction and design practices for distribution and transmission transformers.
• Proven experience leading FATs and knowledge of IEC and Australian manufacturing standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and improve processes.
• Knowledge of MV Switchgears is an advantage.
• Willingness to work on remote or mining sites.
