Test Automation Engineer – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking an experienced API & Integration Test Automation Engineer on a fixed‑term contract until March 2027. You will design, develop and maintain automated testing solutions for healthcare and enterprise applications, ensuring high‑quality software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated API and integration test suites covering functional, regression and end‑to‑end scenarios.
• Build and support test frameworks for REST, SOAP and event‑driven patterns, including schema validation and data integrity testing.
• Integrate automated test execution into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gates.
• Collaborate with software, platform engineers and architects to embed testability into solution design.
• Analyse test failures, produce quality metrics and drive continuous improvement of testing practices.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining automated API and integration testing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST, HTTP/S, JSON, XML and API contract testing principles.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD environments and Git‑based source control.
• Knowledge of authentication/authorisation testing (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, token‑based security).
• Ability to work in Agile delivery teams and collaborate with engineering and architecture groups.
