Tax Controversy Specialist – Senior Associate/Manager

About the role

Join PwC Australia's Tax Controversy team to help leading multinationals and sophisticated private groups navigate complex disputes with the Australian Taxation Office. You will work across the full dispute lifecycle, from risk reviews to appeals before the Administrative Review Tribunal or courts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage taxpayer disputes with revenue authorities and other government agencies.
• Prepare and manage responses to information requests and position papers, engaging with authorities on technical tax issues.
• Collaborate with tax specialists and industry teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Mentor junior team members, supporting their technical and professional development.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Australian tax law and proven ability to manage and resolve tax audits and disputes.
• Excellent analytical skills with rigorous attention to detail when interpreting tax legislation.
• Effective communication and presentation abilities for interaction with colleagues, clients, counsel, and revenue authorities.
• Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset and commitment to helping others grow.
