Tax Associate / Senior Associate (2-8 PQE)

About the role

A premier commercial law firm in Sydney is expanding its award‑winning tax practice. The role offers personal ownership of complex tax matters and the chance to work closely with leading partners and other practice groups.

Key responsibilities

• Take personal ownership of complex tax matters and transaction workstreams.
• Advise on tax structuring and implementation for M&A, divestments, joint ventures and other strategic transactions.
• Assist with rulings, clearances and engagement with revenue authorities.
• Provide tax clause advice and risk allocation for a range of transaction and financing documents.

Required profile

• 2 to 8 years post‑admission experience in Australian taxation law, gained in a leading law or professional services firm.
• Confidence working directly with clients and other advisers.
• Strong experience in advisory and transactional tax.

• Advisory and transactional tax experience.
• Tax structuring for M&A and other strategic transactions.
