Systems Specialist - Logistics and Systems Engineering Database

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Systems Specialist for the Defence project AIR 6002, which delivers a Future Lead-In Fighter System (FLIFS) including aircraft, simulators, facilities, ground support equipment, training material and contracted services. The role develops the Capability Development Document (CDD) covering the logistics aspects of all FLIFS system elements except facilities, and manages the project systems engineering database. It sits under the Air Warfare System Project Office (AWSPO) in conjunction with Air Force Headquarters (AFHQ), with limited supervision from the VCDF Task Lead. The position is based onsite at RAAF Base Williamtown, near Newcastle, with Canberra (Russell Offices) possible on a case-by-case basis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, reliable CDDs and artefacts, including a Logistics Management Plan and logistics Function and Performance Specifications (FPS)
• Represent VCDF at forums with stakeholders such as operators and delivery agents
• Draft ASDEFCON Data Item Descriptions (DID)
• Liaise with the delivery organisation on systems engineering database choice and design, and periodically vet and update the database content
• Produce systems engineering database outputs as required by the project
• Evaluate and report on tenders and conduct vendor requirements reviews
• Present verbal and written reports to committees and boards, and participate in commercial activities

Required profile

• Active NV1 or higher security clearance (essential)
• Ability to work onsite at RAAF Base Williamtown; Canberra may be considered case by case
• Desirable: ability to travel
