Structural Engineer – Power Generation

About the role

Aurecon is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join its Power Generation team in Sydney. You will work on a diverse portfolio of energy projects, including solar, wind, battery storage, and transmission, delivering high‑quality structural designs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for power generation, renewable energy and related infrastructure projects.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, reports, technical specifications and other design documentation.
• Develop design solutions from feasibility and conceptual stages through to detailed design.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams locally and internationally to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of local experience on energy or power generation projects.
• Working towards chartership or already a chartered engineer.
• Proficient in Australian Standards for structural design.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver high‑quality technical documentation.

Required skills

• Reinforced concrete design.
• Structural steel design.
• Hand calculations, spreadsheets and structural analysis software (Spacegass, SAFE, Strand7, IdeaStatica or similar).
• Knowledge of Australian Standards for structural engineering.
