Software Engineer – Payments Platform

About the role

Monoova is looking for a Software Engineer to help design, build and maintain its API‑first payments platform. You will work on critical finance and payments services that power real‑time money movement for high‑growth tech companies across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on architectural decisions for new and evolving services.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, support and maintain code for finance and payments digital platforms and user interfaces.
• Synthesize feature requirements, propose alternative technical approaches and meet aggressive delivery timelines.
• Work with UX, product and other stakeholders to ensure functional and non‑functional goals are met.
• Identify, recommend and document solutions for security, performance and process challenges in existing systems.
• Self‑manage tasks with minimal oversight and lead small teams of less‑experienced engineers on targeted projects.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of enterprise‑grade software design, especially for finance or payments systems.
• Experience with source‑control and CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub.
• Ability to articulate technical challenges and propose commercially viable solutions.
• Comfort with ambiguous problems and abstract thinking.
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
