About the role
Google is seeking a Software Engineer to work on Payments Identity Verification, building robust back‑end services that translate region‑specific identity requirements into unified solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and implement abstractions for identity verification, handling messy, region‑specific requirements.
- Lead design and execution of new system capabilities, evolving the platform for complex verification journeys.
- Design resilient integrations with external identity providers, ensuring reliability and secure data verification.
- Partner with downstream teams (Play, Cloud, Google Pay) to integrate infrastructure into user journeys.
- Drive system‑wide improvements, owning metrics such as pass rates and verification duration.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1 year of software development experience in languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience collaborating with UX and product partners to turn feature ideas into engineering tasks.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
