Software Engineer – Cyber Security Automation

About the role

ANZ is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Cyber Security Automation squad within the Security Operations Centre. You will work closely with SOC analysts, incident responders and security engineers to design, build, test and support automation solutions that enhance the efficiency and scalability of cyber‑security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain automation enhancements using established orchestration workflows and engineering patterns.
• Contribute to improvements of the cyber‑security incident management platform to streamline analyst actions.
• Develop and test API integrations following best‑practice patterns.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts to translate manual processes into automated solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and continuously improve deployed automation tools.

Required profile

• Foundational knowledge of software engineering, cyber security and incident response concepts.
• Ability to work with SOC analysts, incident responders and security engineers.
• Willingness to take ownership of defined deliverables and learn under experienced engineers.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and attention to operational detail.
