Snowflake Engineer – Cloud Data Platform

About the role

Westpac is looking for a hands‑on Snowflake Engineer to own end‑to‑end modern data solutions. You will design, build and optimise cloud‑native data platforms that power analytics and AI initiatives across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytical solutions on Snowflake.
• Build and operate cloud‑native data platforms using AWS and/or Azure services.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitHub version control and automated deployments.
• Apply engineering best practices for performance, security, data governance and cost optimisation.
• Support AI‑enabled analytics and automation projects.
• Collaborate with architecture, analytics and business stakeholders to deliver outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and maintaining Snowflake data pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
• Strong background in CI/CD, GitHub and automated deployment practices.
• Solid understanding of performance, security, data governance and cost‑optimisation best practices.
• Exposure to AI‑enabled analytics or automation initiatives.
• Effective collaboration with technical and business teams in an enterprise environment.
