Senior Systems Engineer – Hivemind Vision

About the role

As a member of Shield AI’s Australian Engineering Team, you will help design and integrate Hivemind Vision and Mission Autonomy solutions, supporting key customer programs and internal R&D initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Capture end‑to‑end system requirements for Hivemind Vision Systems and integrated autonomy solutions.
• Design and develop system architectures spanning perception, autonomy, and mission‑level workflows.
• Use MBSE tools to document, maintain, and extend architecture models, creating SysML models that detail system decomposition, functional flows, interfaces, and behavior.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to improve tooling, automation, and connections between system models and codebases.
• Support the evolution and execution of the systems engineering process across the Australian organization and report status, risks, and accomplishments to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of systems engineering experience (or equivalent with advanced degree).
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Systems, Software, Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience with systems engineering practices, requirements definition, and verification.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage detailed technical information.
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian NV1 (Secret) clearance and handle ITAR‑controlled data.

Required skills

• Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Creating and maintaining models with UML, SysML and/or UPDM.
• Experience with Cameo APIs and Velocity Template Language (VTL) is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
