Senior Support Technician – Client Hero

About the role

First Focus is looking for a Senior Support Technician to become the trusted voice for key clients in Christchurch. You will combine deep infrastructure expertise with strong client communication to keep environments running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for client incidents, providing calm and decisive support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Microsoft AD, Azure, M365, Exchange, and Windows Server.
• Support hybrid cloud environments including Azure, VMware, and Citrix.
• Diagnose problems on desktops, servers, networks, and backup systems.
• Participate in project deployments without needing hand‑holding.
• Build strong relationships with clients so they request you by name.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and solutions experts to maintain secure, high‑performing environments.

Required profile

• Extensive infrastructure knowledge from desktop to firewall, LAN/WAN.
• Strong grasp of Windows Server, Azure AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and messaging platforms.
• Experience with virtualization (Hyper‑V, VMware) and backup technologies (Veeam, Datto, StorageCraft).
• Excellent client‑focused communication and complex problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with ticketing/automation tools such as ConnectWise, Labtech or Kaseya.
• Genuine desire to help clients, not just fix issues.
