Senior Project Manager – Industrial Automation

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with deep expertise in industrial automation to lead complex projects for process‑industry and manufacturing clients in Sydney. The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle from planning through commissioning, ensuring solutions meet customer expectations and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of industrial automation projects, including planning, execution, and commissioning.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay within scope, timeline, and budget.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Act as the primary escalation point for customers and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Oversee project financials, invoicing, progress claims, and cash flow.
• Supervise FAT, SAT, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and sales teams to guarantee successful delivery.
• Support pre‑sales activities, including proposal preparation and technical discussions.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• 10+ years of project management experience in industrial automation or engineering environments.
• Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering (or related discipline).
• Proven experience delivering automation projects in FMCG, CPG, process industries, BMS, or EMS.
• Hands‑on experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar PLC platforms.
• Experience with control and power panel design, installation, and commissioning.
• Strong vendor and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience leading teams of five or more members.
