Senior Legal Counsel – Investment Funds

About the role

This senior legal position supports a leading financial services business that provides infrastructure and regulatory oversight for investment products. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the role involves advising senior executives and cross‑functional teams on the creation, launch, and ongoing operation of investment funds.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on the establishment, launch, operation and restructuring of investment funds and related products.
• Draft and review fund constitutions, trust deeds, disclosure documents and other product documentation.
• Provide guidance on financial services regulation, governance and compliance matters.
• Collaborate closely with product, compliance, investment operations and senior management teams.
• Manage complex legal matters, offering practical advice on commercial and regulatory risks.
• Support broader corporate and commercial projects as needed.
• Supervise and mentor a Legal Counsel within the team.

Required profile

• Approximately 7+ years of post‑qualification experience gained in private practice, in‑house, or a combination of both.
• Significant experience in funds management and investment products, including the legal and regulatory framework for managed investment schemes.
• Strong drafting abilities, commercial judgment and confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders.
