Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Learning Sciences

About the role

Monash University’s Faculty of Education is seeking two senior academics to lead learning‑sciences research and teaching in mathematics or literacy education. The appointment is a continuing full‑time role at either Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D) level, depending on experience and track record.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate teaching from a learning‑sciences perspective.
• Design and develop curriculum, learning resources and assessment strategies.
• Supervise honours and higher‑degree research students.
• Contribute to scholarly publications and research projects.
• Lead unit development and support faculty committees (Level C).
• Provide academic leadership, secure competitive grants, mentor researchers and build national/international partnerships (Level D).

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in learning sciences applied to mathematics or literacy education.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Advanced curriculum design and innovative teaching practice.
• Experience in research supervision and collaborative partnerships (Level C).
• Leadership in research funding, HDR supervision and international networking (Level D).
