Senior Kafka Developer (Onsite, Melbourne)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Kafka Developer to join our Melbourne team. You will design and deliver high‑performance, event‑driven solutions that enable real‑time data streaming across our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop custom integration solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and manage Kafka producers, consumers, and event‑driven services.
• Design and implement stream‑processing logic with Flink SQL.
• Work with Schema Registry and message‑validation frameworks.
• Enable API integrations via Kong Gateway.
• Configure HTTP sinks, retries, error handling, and payload mapping.
• Support SIT, E2E testing, debugging, and root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for seamless integration delivery.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with strong experience in event‑driven architecture and real‑time data streaming.
• Proven ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
