Senior Engineer, Moulding Engineering – Research & Technology

About the role

Join Resmed’s Moulding Research & Technology team to lead the exploration and maturation of new moulding technologies, focusing on Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) and advanced manufacturing processes. You will translate future product needs into experiments, prototypes and proof‑of‑concept processes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate emerging moulding materials, processes, tooling technologies and manufacturing methods.
• Develop proof‑of‑concept processes and conduct structured experiments to understand material‑process interactions.
• Collaborate with Tooling Design to create experimental moulds, inserts and rapid tooling solutions.
• Progress promising technologies from laboratory feasibility to production‑relevant demonstrations and support NPI teams during adoption.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and promote evidence‑based decision making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Polymer, Plastics, Rubber, Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Significant hands‑on experience in injection moulding process development using scientific moulding principles.
• Strong problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and ability to design structured experiments.
• Curious, independent and comfortable working through technical uncertainty.

Required skills

• Injection moulding (including LSR, thermoplastic, multi‑material, 2K moulding).
• Silicone over‑moulding, textile over‑moulding and other advanced moulding technologies.
• Mould flow simulation or other process simulation tools.
• Rapid tooling, prototype moulds and modular tooling concepts.
• Polymer/material characterisation and understanding of material‑process interactions.
