Senior Data Engineer – Azure Synapse & PySpark

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, construction, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms. The role focuses on leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics and PySpark to deliver high‑performance, secure, and reliable data solutions, especially within banking or financial services contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines using Azure Synapse and PySpark.
• Maintain and optimise existing ETL processes for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with analytics, business, and platform teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure data security, governance, and compliance standards are met.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Azure Synapse Analytics and PySpark.
• Experience delivering data solutions in banking or financial services environments is preferred.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with stakeholders.
