Security Technician

About the role

Based in Northern Rivers, the Security Technician will service, maintain, troubleshoot and commission security systems across a portfolio of customer sites. This hands‑on role blends technical problem‑solving, customer engagement and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electronic security systems at customer locations.
• Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled inspections and commission newly installed systems.
• Deliver small to medium security system upgrades, modifications and fit‑out projects.
• Prepare quotations, recommendations and technical advice for repairs and upgrades.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, project teams and service colleagues to ensure successful delivery.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Security Technician or similar field service role.
• Trade qualification in Security, Electrical, HVAC, Electronics, Communications or related discipline.
• Current NSW Security Licence.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and service documentation.
• Customer‑focused with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel within the region and work independently.

Required skills

• Maintenance, fault‑finding, repair and commissioning of security systems.
• Experience with Gallagher Security Management Systems.
• Exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS) or integrated building technologies.
