Safety, Health & Environment Manager

About the role

Lead the safety, health and environment function at Nestlé’s Smithtown factory, driving a zero‑accident vision and embedding sustainable practices across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the factory’s SHE strategy, aligning with market and corporate objectives.
• Monitor SHE performance, report data, and integrate safety considerations into business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain ISO14001 and ISO45001 certifications.
• Coach plant and line managers to embed SHE responsibilities into daily operations.
• Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions and audits, promoting a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• 5+ years of SHE management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Formal qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or Environment.
• Knowledge of national/state legislation and industry codes.
• Proven ability to manage change, communicate effectively and build stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Implementation and maintenance of ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems.
• Risk assessment and incident investigation.
• Experience with TPM, LEAN, NCE, NEMS and NSMS frameworks.
