Relationship Manager

About the role

The Relationship Manager will manage and grow a portfolio of Diversified Industries customers for ANZ's Business & Private Bank. The role focuses on customer acquisition, cross‑selling, and referrals to drive portfolio growth while delivering tailored banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act in the best interest of customers with a customer‑centric approach.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of each customer’s business and financial needs.
• Provide appropriate banking solutions and collaborate with product partners to design, structure, and execute deals.
• Build and maintain external networks, focusing on origination and influence.
• Structure deals with specialist teams and manage credit risk across the portfolio.
• Drive new‑to‑bank business and grow whole‑of‑customer relationships.
• Exercise relationship credit approval discretion where appropriate.
• Coach and develop an Assistant Manager direct report.

Required profile

• Proven relationship‑management experience with complex, diversified‑industry clients.
• Strong domain knowledge in banking solutions for corporate customers.
• Ability to understand customer needs and recommend relevant products or services.
• Experience collaborating with internal product and specialist teams.
• Demonstrated capability to manage credit risk and make discretionary credit decisions.
• Leadership skills to coach junior team members.
