Registered Midwife Pool / Rotational

About the role

Mercy Hospital for Women, a public specialist teaching hospital in Heidelberg, is recruiting a Pool Midwife who works across a range of maternity and specialist areas. The position is permanent, full-time or part-time, on a rotating roster, with shifts based in Birth Suites, Post-Natal / Antenatal wards, Fetal Monitoring, Outpatients, HDU and the Emergency Department. Education support is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Play an integral role in a motivated clinical team with a family-centred care approach.
• Provide best-practice patient care as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Work across maternity and specialist areas on a rotating roster.

Required profile

• Resilient, compassionate and committed to patient-centred care.
• Minimum of 12 months recent experience in maternity services as a registered midwife.
• Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check, or in the process of obtaining them.
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations consistent with public health orders.

• Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
• A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to patient care and management.
• Ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
