Quality Engineer

About the role

Join Daikin Australia as a Quality Engineer reporting to the Quality Manager. You will ensure that products and processes meet strict quality standards, maintain the ISO 9001 QMS, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor manufacturing processes, conduct root cause analysis using 8D/QC tools, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain QMS documentation (MQ, work instructions, quality procedures) in line with ISO 9001 and lead Quality Circle activities.
• Provide technical support to Production, Engineering, R&D, Technical Service, Purchasing and Sales teams.
• Review drawings and specifications, participate in prototype builds, production trials, risk assessments and validation activities.
• Lead Kaizen, Lean and Six Sigma projects to reduce defects, waste and rework.
• Assist with supplier evaluations, quality performance reviews, audits and defect resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS standards and hands‑on experience with quality tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders.
