QA/QC Manager – Manufacturing & Hire Division

About the role

JLE Group is looking for an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead quality assurance and control across its high‑volume electrical equipment manufacturing and major project delivery. Based in Newcastle, you will shape and maintain quality standards, ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001.
• Create project quality plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and related procedures.
• Lead internal and external audits, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee inspections and testing of materials, equipment and workmanship against drawings and specifications.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor quality performance and manage procured material compliance.
• Track quality metrics, defects and trends; prepare KPI dashboards and cost analysis for senior management.
• Lead QA/QC personnel, site inspectors and project engineers, providing guidance during project planning.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement and manufacturing teams.

Required profile

• 7‑12 years of relevant experience in electrical manufacturing, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC principles and ISO standards, with hands‑on audit experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and standards.
• Proven problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and documentation skills.
• Management experience in planning, organising and evaluating teams.
• Relevant OH&S training and knowledge of contract standards (GC 21, AS/4000).
