Purchasing Officer – Fresh Produce & Ready-to-Heat

About the role

Marley Spoon is looking for a Purchasing Officer to own end‑to‑end purchasing and planning for fresh produce and Ready‑to‑Heat categories. You will translate demand into accurate orders, work closely with the Sourcing team, and ensure service, cost and waste targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchasing, planning and purchase‑order execution for allocated categories.
• Convert demand forecasts into timely, accurate ordering decisions across fulfilment centres.
• Partner with Sourcing to align supplier capability, availability and commercial outcomes.
• Monitor inventory, service levels and waste performance, driving continuous improvement.
• Maintain ordering discipline, cadence and risk mitigation actions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in purchasing or planning, preferably in fresh produce, ready‑to‑heat or other perishable categories.
• Strong commercial judgement balancing cost, availability and waste.
• Confident stakeholder management with suppliers and internal teams.
• Data‑driven mindset with high attention to detail.
