Purchasing Officer – Defence Industry

About the role

Join a leading defence contractor as a Purchasing Officer, responsible for negotiating and submitting Request for Quote (RFQ) packages. You will support the procurement cycle, ensure value for money, and help minimise risk across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, issue and manage RFQ packages for goods and services.
• Review procurement initiatives and assess contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to measure performance and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records in the ERP system and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Australian citizen able to obtain and maintain Defence Security Clearance.
• Experience with an ERP system (IFS or similar) and strong Excel skills.
• Membership in CIPS or ASCI is preferred.
• Current driver’s licence and excellent attention to detail.

Required skills

• IFS ERP (or comparable ERP platform).
• Advanced MS Excel.
• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
