Project Quality Coordinator – FIFO (2:1) to Newman

About the role

The Project Quality Coordinator (SMP) will support the Project Manager in delivering high‑quality mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil works on a FIFO roster to Newman. You will act as an independent quality resource, ensuring compliance with project quality systems and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and improve project quality systems and initiatives.
• Perform inspections, coordinate Manufacturing Data Records (MDR) collation and approvals.
• Manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), witness points, hold points and formal sign‑offs.
• Complete Inspection Test Records (ITRs) in line with approved ITPs and matrices.
• Identify, document, investigate and close Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) with clients.
• Compile, review and submit MDRs ensuring completeness and compliance.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor quality performance and escalate issues.
• Maintain traceability systems and produce timely quality reports.
• Support planning, coordination and execution of project quality audits.
• Facilitate use of project tools such as MCATS, WTS and Cintellate.
• Manage inspection and testing equipment calibration and readiness.

Required profile

• Welding inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP 3.1 or CWI) is essential.
• Ability to work independently in high‑pressure environments.
• Strong organisational skills with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• CSWIP 3.1 or CWI welding inspection certification.
• Experience with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Records (ITRs).
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Data Records (MDR) processes.
• Familiarity with MCATS, WTS and Cintellate systems.
• Calibration and maintenance of inspection/testing equipment.
